Cupcake

Description

This is a 20″x16″ acrylic painting on stretched canvas. It took me 2 hours and 34 minutes to paint. It is an original painting. Metal wire for hanging will be installed before shipment.

Story:

Cupcake was a smart cocker spaniel. She was adopted by a young man who lived in a small apartment. They would go on walks together and her owner would take her to the pet store whenever they ran out of dog food, treats or whenever he felt like she needed a new toy. Cupcake really liked going to the pet store because there was a nice lady that worked there who would give her a treat every time they stopped by. The young man seemed to really like visiting the nice lady too. Cupcake could sense his gravitation towards her and wondered why he acted nervous when he spoke to the nice lady.

One day, Cupcake’s owner drove into the parking lot of the pet store and instead of going right in like they usually did. He anxiously looked at the flower in his hand, twirling it around in his fingers. After a couple minutes, he took a deep breath and walked across the parking lot with Cupcake towards the store doors. Before they entered, they could see the nice lady, through the sliding glass door. She was smiling while talking to a man and greeting his dog with a treat from her pocket. Cupcake could sense a change in her owner’s energy. His heart dropped as he stared at her. He dropped the flower and turned away to leave. Cupcake did not want to leave without her treat or pets from the nice lady so she picked up the flower, ran past the sliding glass doors, and right up to the nice lady with the treats. She wagged her tail excitedly as she held the flower in her mouth. The lady smiled, taking the flower from Cupcake and traded it for a treat. Cupcake’s owner ran inside after her and when he saw the lady with the flower, he couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. He took Cupcake’s leash and apologized for her misbehavior. The nice lady laughed and told him it was not big deal and that she was happy to see them. He let her know the flower was for her and she thanked him.

After that, the nice lady started showing up more in Cupcake’s life. On their walks, on playdates, eventually, she moved in with them! Cupcake was so happy to have her favorite people in her life!
